SMS Consent Process
How consumers opt in to text messages on the Anslora platform
Last updated: June 18, 2026
1. Overview
Anslora is an AI-powered phone answering platform used by small home-service businesses. Consumers receive SMS messages only after providing verbal consent during a phone call they placed to a business using Anslora. This page documents the complete consent experience for carrier and campaign review purposes.
2. How Opt-In Works
- A consumer dials the published phone number of a business that uses Anslora.
- The call is answered by the business's AI receptionist.
- If the AI books an appointment or collects the consumer's information, it confirms the consumer's phone number to make sure it has the best way to reach them.
- The AI then asks a separate, explicit yes/no question for permission to text the consumer, disclosing that message and data rates may apply and that the consumer can reply STOP at any time to opt out. The consumer must agree before any SMS message is sent.
- The consumer's verbal confirmation is captured in the recorded and transcribed call, which is retained as the consent audit trail.
- If the consumer agrees, they then receive SMS messages related to their interaction with that specific business. If the consumer declines, no SMS messages are sent.
3. The Exact Disclosure Script
The AI receptionist uses the following two-step script, verbatim — first confirming the consumer's phone number, then asking for explicit consent before any SMS is sent:
AI: "Is the number you're calling from the best one to reach you at?"
(Consumer confirms their number)
AI: "And is it okay to text you about your appointments and service updates at this number? You can reply STOP anytime to opt out."
(Consumer says yes)
AI: "Great — you'll get a text shortly with the confirmation. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP anytime for help."
If the consumer declines, no SMS messages are sent and the business follows up by phone instead.
Calls conducted in Spanish use an equivalent Spanish-language disclosure. The opt-out keyword STOP is always communicated in English, as it is the keyword recognized by the messaging system.
4. Message Types
After opting in, a consumer may receive the following message types from the specific business they contacted: appointment confirmations and reminders, responses to their inquiries, service updates related to their job, follow-ups on quotes or estimates they requested, and review requests after completed service.
5. Opt-Out and Help
Consumers may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Once a consumer opts out, no business on the Anslora platform can send them SMS messages unless they opt back in. Replying HELP returns an automated response identifying the business and providing support contact information. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
